The Daily Telegraph (Sydney) reporting on Ellas visit to Australia, August 19, 2014

Citing the newspaper: For many 18-year-old Brits a trip to Australia means backpacking your way around the country.

Not so for Ella Henderson, the latest English pop starlet to enjoy chart success here. The teen is in Sydney to promote her debut single, Ghost, which went straight to No.1 in the UK and peaked on the Aussie chart in third spot.
“Quite a few of my friends have travelled and visited Australia but to be here for the pure reason that my music has brought me here makes me really happy,” Henderson told Confidential.
“This is definitely an opportunity that doesn’t come around often.”
As an added bonus, the 20 plus hour flight from London, Henderson was upgraded to first class.
“It was amazing. I’m definitely living the dream,” she laughed.
“This whole experience is just insane. I’ve dedicated my life to music since the age of three and it all kind of puts the pieces together.
“The little highlights and perks and the great things are from working hard.”
Henderson, who was born Gabriella, was a finalist on The X Factor UK in 2012, placing sixth in the competition.
Ghost, co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, was released in June and went on to top the charts in numerous countries, including Poland, Scotland and Ireland. The follow-up single, Glow, is due out next month, as is her debut album, Chapter One.
There’s no doubting Henderson is a star on the rise. She’s also making waves in the US, where she performed on Good Morning America earlier this month.
“It is refreshing to come out and have to start from the bottom again,” she said, ahead of a showcase at the Paddington Uniting Church tonight.
“The plan for right now is just to take each day as it comes really. It is just spreading like crazy, you never quite expect this.’’
